New Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party Convenor Arvind Kejriwal's new house has been finalised. According to Aam Aadmi Party sources, Kejriwal will vacate the CM residence in one to two days. He has found a house in his constituency and will shift to it.
In fact, Aam Aadmi Party was looking for a place for its leader which would not only be convenient for his work but would also be easy for him to travel and he would be able to stay connected with every corner of the city and its residents.
Earlier, the party had said in a statement that Arvind Kejriwal will soon vacate the Chief Minister's residence and a new residence is being searched for him. Kejriwal is looking for a house near the New Delhi assembly constituency because he wants to remain connected with the people there. The party said that with only a few months left for the Delhi assembly elections, the AAP national convenor is seriously focusing on finding such a residence that will allow him to fully utilize his time and resources.
The party had said that apart from AAP MLAs, councillors, workers, common people from various social, economic and political backgrounds are also offering accommodation to former CM Kejriwal. Many areas of the city including Defence Colony, Pitampura, Jorbagh, Chanakyapuri, Greater Kailash, Vasant Vihar and Hauz Khas offered accommodation to Kejriwal, but Kejriwal said that he would stay at a place from where he would be comfortable in meeting the people of his constituency.
AAP had demanded from the central government that Kejriwal should be provided official residence as the head of a national party. Kejriwal lives with his wife, children and elderly parents. Before joining politics, Kejriwal lived in Kaushambi, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. In 2013, he became the CM of Delhi for the first time and then lived in a bungalow in Tilak Lane. After becoming the CM of Delhi for the second time in 2015, he started living in the residence located on Flagstaff Road.
