Entertainment: Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan's superhit Pakistani drama 'Humsafar' is now going to be staged in India. Bollywood's veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt is going to present it. He has taken the stage adaptation rights from the owners of 'Humsafar'. Theatre and film minister Imran Zahid has said that this initiative is being taken to promote India-Pakistan peace.

According to Times Now's report, Imran Zahid said, 'We have spoken to Pakistan's Hum TV about the stage adaptation rights of Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan starrer 'Humsafar' serial. We are currently in discussions with Hum TV's creative head and MD Productions CEO Momina Duraid, who is also the maker of 'Humsafar'.

The play will be performed at 5 places in the country.
Imran Zahid further said- 'It will be free without any financial benefit as an initiative to promote India-Pakistan peace after the recent decisions of the Supreme Court. The actor further said- Principally we are ready for this but some official formalities are pending which will take time to complete. As soon as they are completed, we will officially announce it. We will perform this play at 5 places in the country.'

All Indian Cine Workers Association had banned Pakistani actors.
Let us tell you that after the Pulwama attacks on India in 2019, the All Indian Cine Workers Association had banned Pakistani actors from working in India. Earlier, in 2016, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association had banned Pakistani actors as well as singers from working in India due to the rift between India and Pakistan.
