National:   For the first time today, the country's President Draupadi Murmu has expressed her pain over the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College. In her first comment, she said that she is 'disappointed and horrified'.

'Just Enough'

President Murmu, saddened by the crimes against women, while talking to news agency PTI, said that on one hand students, doctors and citizens were protesting in Kolkata, on the other hand criminals were roaming around in other places. 'Enough is enough', now something has to be done. 

Society needs introspection

President Draupadi Murmu said that no civilized society can allow such atrocities on daughters and sisters. Society needs 'honest, unbiased introspection', asking itself some tough questions.

Rape happened in RG Kar Medical College

Let us tell you that the incident of murder and alleged sexual assault of a female trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9 led to national outrage and several rallies were organised in various states of the country.
