 National:  In Karnataka's Udupi district, a man dressed as 'Yamraj' organised a long jump competition on the pothole-ridden Udupi-Malpe road. The competition left people and commuters on the road in awe. The presence of 'Yamraj' in this unique competition was a form of protest to draw the attention of the authorities towards the bad condition of the road.

In the viral video, 'Yamraj' is seen wearing his iconic golden attire and holding a mace. Yamraj is seen measuring the long jumps made by men dressed as ghosts. Assisting him is another protester dressed as 'Chitragupta', a deity responsible for keeping a record of the dead. This unique protest highlights the terrible condition of the Udupi-Malpe road, which has become dangerous for daily commuters.

People reacted after the protest

The video was shot on the road connecting Udupi to the popular Malpe beach. The area is full of huge potholes and is said to be unsafe for commuters. After the protest, a user said, "Hope the concerned authorities will look into this."
