International News: Nearly two weeks after the killing of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh alias Ismail Haniyeh, Iran has again issued a big threat to Israel. Iran said that Israel has committed a huge strategic mistake by killing the Hamas chief. It will have to pay the price for this. Iran's acting foreign minister Ali Bagheri said, "The act committed by the Zionists in Tehran was a strategic mistake on their part, as they will have to pay a serious price for this.

Iran's acting foreign minister told AFP in an interview on Thursday that Israel made a costly "strategic mistake" by killing Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last week, Al Arabiya News reported. The remarks came a day after he attended an extraordinary session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the Saudi coastal city of Jeddah. Although Israel has not commented on Haniyeh's death, Iran has blamed Israel for it and vowed to retaliate.

Tension at peak between Israel and Iran

Tensions have risen in the region after Iran's threat. Bagheri claimed that Israel wants to spread the tensions arising from war and conflict to other countries. While it is in no position to fight Iran. He said, "The Zionist Islamic Republic is in no position to start a war against Iran. Because they have neither the capability nor the strength for this." It is noteworthy that Israel was held "fully responsible" for the "heinous" murder of Haniyeh in a meeting of foreign ministers of the 57-member OIC on Wednesday. Haniyeh lived in Qatar and was a prominent figure in the talks to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
