Sources said that Ambani, who reached the US capital Washington on January 18, was probably the only Indian to attend Trump's dinner.

Join as a private invitee 

The Ambani couple will attend the swearing-in ceremony on January 20 as personal invitees of the Trump family. The Ambani family shares close ties with the Trump family. The richest Indian was present when Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump visited Hyderabad for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in 2017. Ivanka was an advisor to President Trump at the time. He was also present when Trump last visited India as US President in February 2020. Ivanka, her husband Jared Kushner and their eldest daughter Arabella Rose were among the celebrities who attended the three-day pre-wedding festivities of Ambani's youngest son Anant and fiancee Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar, Gujarat in March 2024.

Swearing-in ceremony expected to be star-studded

Sources said several wealthy donors have pledged to contribute the maximum USD 1 million to Trump's inaugural committee for VIP access and access to his swearing-in ceremony, but the Ambani family has been personally invited by the Trump family. Trump's second swearing-in ceremony is expected to be a star-studded affair. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, along with their husbands, First Lady Jill Biden and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, and former presidents Barack Obama, George W Bush and Bill Clinton are expected to attend. 

Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Tim Cook will also attend

The world's three richest people - technology entrepreneur and Trump's most vocal supporter Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Apple CEO Tim Cook and Facebook parent company Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg - will have prominent positions at the ceremony. Others expected to attend Trump's swearing-in include OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi.
