Bank Holiday on 15th January: In India, banks are closed in different zones according to regional festivals. According to the list of bank holidays available on the RBI website, today on Wednesday, banks will remain open in the whole of India except one state. Today, banks will remain closed only in Tamil Nadu. In Tamil Nadu, both government and private banks will remain closed today due to Tiruvalluvar Day. Today, the birth anniversary of the great poet and philosopher Tiruvalluvar is being celebrated in the state. If you live in Tamil Nadu, then complete your banking work through online banking only. If you have any work related to the branch, then you will not be able to do it today.

Bank holidays are according to the zone

Banks across the country are closed on every Sunday of the month as well as on the second and fourth Saturdays. Apart from this, banks are closed on national holidays and festivals. These holidays vary according to different zones. If there is a fifth Saturday in a month, then banks are open on that day. Nowadays, most banking work is done through online banking or mobile banking. But there are some works like taking a loan, in which one has to go to the bank branch. In such a situation, if you are thinking of going to the bank, then you must check the list of holidays first.
