Air India Express, a subsidiary of Tata Group-led Air India, has started daily flights from Patna to three major cities of the country - Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad from January 15. These are direct flights. According to PTI news, the airline said that the new flights are part of the airline's strategy to connect emerging cities to major destinations across the country and beyond. A large number of passengers have started getting convenience from these new flights.
Inaugural flight took off
According to the news, a ceremony was organized at Patna Airport on this occasion, in which the inaugural flight was flagged off with great enthusiasm. The event was attended by senior officials of the Airports Authority of India, Air India Express and other key stakeholders of Jai Prakash Narayan Airport. To make this event memorable, special boarding passes were given to the first guests in the inaugural flights. The statement said that Air India Express is rapidly expanding its network with the help of its growing fleet, which is close to the milestone of 100 aircraft.
Recently these cities are also included in the network
Air India Express recently added Dimapur, Dibrugarh, Sri Vijay Puram (Port Blair) and Jammu to its domestic network, as well as international destinations like Bangkok and Phuket. The airline said the additions have led to a 30 per cent growth in its winter schedule over the previous year, with more than 400 flights now operating daily, up from 325 last year, according to the report.
The airline added several new destinations in the last two months
Air India Express has added several domestic destinations to its network in the last two months. The airline has started flights to Kolkata and Bagdogra in West Bengal, taking the number of weekly flights to over 230 this winter as against 168 in the same season last year. Air India Express has started daily flights from Kolkata to Sri Vijayapuram (Port Blair). Similarly, flights have been started from Surat and Pune to Bangkok.
