Brendon McCullum England Team Coach: A five-match T20 series will be played between India and England before the Champions Trophy 2025. The first match between the two teams will be played on 22 January at the historic Eden Gardens ground in Kolkata. But even before this, England coach Brendon McCullum, the father of the aggressive batting style 'Badgeball', surprised everyone by saying that his team will play very cautiously in the limited overs series against India.

England coach Brendon McCullum said that I know this tour is going to be difficult because we are facing a strong Indian team but I am confident that our team will play cautious style of cricket. This will be a great and exciting series. We knew about it two months ago. McCullum has been the coach of the England Test team since May 2022 and the team has achieved many good successes during his tenure. However, in the series against India, he will take up this responsibility for the first time in the limited overs format.

Indian team has the upper hand

The Indian team has an upper hand against England in T20 International cricket. Because so far 24 T20 International matches have been played between the two teams, out of which the Indian team has won 13 and England has won 11 matches. The last T20 match between the two teams was the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024, in which India won by 68 runs.

One day series will be held before Champions Trophy

England's team will play a series of three ODIs after a five-match T20 series against India. The ODI series will be very important in view of the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. This will give both the teams a chance to prepare and correct their team combination. India has won the Champions Trophy twice. Whereas England has not won the Champions Trophy title even once.
