Mamta Kulkarni made her Bollywood debut in 1991 and has been one of the most glamorous and bold actresses of her time. She quit her career in 2003. Mamta Kulkarni comes from a Marathi Brahmin family and her childhood name was Padmavati. She studied at St. Joseph School in Versova, Mumbai.
