The Rajasthan government has taken a big step in the education sector of the state and has decided to close 190 schools. Out of these, 169 schools were such where not even a single child was studying. Most of the schools were completely empty, while in some schools only a nominal number of children were studying. According to the information, in some schools, school teachers and employees were taking salary without working. The Bhajan Lal government of the state has taken action on this.
21 schools were merged with nearby schools
169 schools with zero admission in the state have been closed, while a decision has been taken to merge 21 schools. In schools with zero admission, the employees were also getting salary every month without doing any work. In such a situation, the Director of Primary Education, Rajasthan, Bikaner has issued an order to close such 169 schools. The Director of Primary Education, Rajasthan, Bikaner gave this information in two notices. Also, in the press release issued by Education Minister Dilawar, it was said that today 190 primary and higher primary schools operating in the state have been integrated (merged).
There was zero admission in many schools
Among the merged schools, there are 169 primary and higher primary schools where not even a single child was admitted. Due to which, despite the approval of teacher posts as per the RTE norms, teachers were not available and the quality of education was getting affected. Keeping this situation in mind, government primary/upper primary schools with zero admissions have been merged with other primary/upper primary schools near the village. Similarly, 21 schools operating in the same premises have also been merged.
Education Minister Madan Dilawar further said that the state government has taken this step in view of improving the quality of education. This will make resources and adequate teachers available in schools. At the same time, it is being said that among the closed or merged schools, 20 schools are also from former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's home district Jodhpur.
