Quota is applicable in UG course

Delhi University is planning to reserve one seat for a single girl in every postgraduate course from the 2025-26 academic session, for which a proposal will be discussed in the Academic Council meeting on Friday. Let us tell you that the university already reserves one seat in every course for a single girl at the graduate level, this policy was implemented in the 2023-24 admission year. Under this scheme, 764 students were admitted in 69 colleges this year.

Postgraduate admissions in DU are conducted through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), followed by the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). Let us tell you that during the admission process of the year 2023-24, more than 90 thousand students applied for 13500 PG seats.

This may be applicable to 77 PG courses

If the proposal is approved, the new quota will be applicable to all 77 PG courses offered by the university. DU also reserves seats under various categories, including sports, persons with disabilities (PWD), children of armed forces personnel (CW) and widows and orphans. With this initiative, DU wants to extend its support to single children and encourage them to pursue higher education, officials said.
