New Delhi: BJP on Friday gave new state presidents to three states. Lok Sabha MP Dilip Saikia was elected the head of BJP's Assam unit. Former MLA Damodar Naik will be the next president of Goa BJP. MLA Kiran Singh Deo was elected the state president of Chhattisgarh BJP.

Kiran Singh Dev became the state president for the second time 

According to information, MLA Kiran Singh Deo was declared elected unopposed as the party's state president for the second consecutive time on Friday. The announcement was made by BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde. 63-year-old Deo thanked the party's national and state leadership as well as its members for reposing their faith in him. As a party leader from the Bastar region, he considered it an honour to be given this responsibility once again. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, his cabinet colleagues and other senior party leaders were present at the ceremony.

Damodar Naik became the state president of Goa

Former Goa MLA Damodar Naik will be the next president of the Bharatiya Janata Party's state unit. The party's central election observer Sunil Bansal said the core committee met on Friday and unanimously decided to nominate 54-year-old Naik for the post. Bansal said Naik's name would be formally announced on Saturday. 

Dilip Saikia became the BJP president of Assam

Meanwhile, Lok Sabha member Dilip Saikia was elected unopposed as the new president of the Assam unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the returning officer for the election for the post of state president, handed over the official appointment letter to Saikia. Saikia took over the command of the state unit from outgoing president Bhavesh Kalita in the same program. On this occasion, 23 names from the state were also announced in the National Council. 

Top party leaders including Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma were present on the occasion. Saikia sought the support of party workers and leaders for the development of the state. "We have to work together to make Assam one of the top five states. I believe work should speak," he said. He recalled that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had said that when the darkness fades, the lotus (BJP's election symbol) will bloom. "That dream has now become a reality and the lotus is blooming all over the country," he said.
