In fact, senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Brinda Karat said on Thursday that the Left parties have decided to field candidates in the Delhi Assembly elections. Brinda Karat said that the Left parties will contest on 6 seats in the Delhi elections. On the other seats, the Left parties will support the strongest candidates fighting against the BJP.

CPI(M) will contest on 2 out of 6 seats

Participating in the eighth Jharkhand state convention of CPI(M), Brinda Karat said that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) will contest two out of six seats in Delhi. Karat also said that the Left parties will try their best to prevent the Bharatiya Janata Party from coming to power in the national capital Delhi. Therefore, strong candidates will be supported against the BJP on the remaining seats.

When are the elections in Delhi?

The Election Commission on Tuesday announced the date of assembly elections in the Union Territory of Delhi. Assembly elections for 70 seats in Delhi will be conducted in a single phase. According to the Election Commission, voting for the Delhi Assembly elections will be held on 5 February 2025. At the same time, the result of the election will be released on 8 February 2025
