Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Roorkee, is all set to conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. As per the schedule, the exam will be held on February 1, 2, 15 and 16 and the admit cards for the same will be released tomorrow i.e. on January 7, 2025. Earlier the admit cards were scheduled to be released on January 2, but later the release date was postponed due to administrative reasons. Now, according to reports, the GATE 2025 admit card link is expected to be activated around 11 am.
After the admit card is released, candidates can download the GATE 2024 admit card by using their registration number, date of birth and other details on the login page. The admit card link can be accessed at gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
GATE admit card 2025: How to download?
- Firstly visit the official website gate2025.iitr.ac.in
- Then go to the link 'GATE Admit Card 2025'
- Now it will redirect you to the login page.
- After that enter your credentials like registration number, date of birth and other details
- Then the GATE Admit Card 2025 will appear on the screen
- Finally download and save the GATE Admit Card 2025 for future reference
Important information
Candidates appearing for the entrance exam are required to bring original and valid photo identity document (no photocopy/scanned copy/no expired document) which was mentioned at the time of filling the online application. Students must bring any one of these identity cards at the time of entry into the examination hall.

- Driving License
Foreign students are required to bring the following identification documents at the time of entry.
- Valid Passport
- Any other valid photo ID issued by their Government
- Driving License
Remember that under no circumstances will entry be allowed after 30 minutes of the exam starting. Candidates who enter late will not get any extra time to complete the exam.
What will be the marking scheme?
This entrance exam is of 100 marks and has a total of 65 questions. The paper is written in English. There will be two timed MCQs, in the first MCQs - 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. In the second MCQs - 2 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. On the other hand, there is no negative marking in NAT - Numerical Answer-Type (NAT) questions. Also, no marks are deducted for wrong answers in MSQ questions. However, no partial marks are awarded for a single wrong option or half correct combination of options.
