Gujarati solar module manufacturing company Solex Energy will invest Rs 8,000 crore by 2030 to increase its manufacturing capability and enter the solar cell manufacturing sector. The company announced this on Monday and shared details of its plan. The company said that it will also provide jobs to more than 24,000 people. Gujarat-based company Solex Energy has set a target to increase its module manufacturing capability from the current 1.5 gigawatts to 15 gigawatts by 2030 under its expansion plan. Along with this, the company has also planned to set up a solar cell manufacturing plant with an initial capacity of two gigawatts.
By March 2025, the number of employees working in the company will be 25,000
Solex Energy Chairman and Managing Director Chetan Shah said, "Under 'Vision 2030', we will invest Rs 8,000 crore by 2030 to increase module manufacturing capability to 15 gigawatts and enter the solar cell manufacturing sector. More than 24,000 people will be given jobs under this expansion plan. Currently, the number of employees of the company is more than 600. We will increase it to 1,000 by March 2025 and 25,000 by 2030. " Shah said that in view of the need for trained workforce in the solar sector, the company will focus on making local people skilled.
Gujarat's Solex Energy will raise funds through equity and debt
Chetan Shah said, "The amount to be invested for the expansion of the company will be raised through debt and equity. The equity stake in this will be higher. We can also raise funds through joint venture. Our talks are going on regarding raising funds and an announcement will be made soon." The Gujarat-based company also introduced rectangle cell-based solar module (panel) on this occasion. The company claims that this is the country's first rectangle cell based solar module based on 'N Type Topcon' technology. The company will sell it under the 'Tapi-R' brand.
