Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Conference in Bhubaneswar today. PM Modi reached Bhubaneswar on Wednesday night. This time the theme of the conference is 'Contribution of NRIs in Developed India'. Let us tell you that NRIs from more than 50 countries will participate in this conference. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also flagged off the Indian Express train. This train will give the NRIs the experience of traveling to historical, religious and cultural places of India. To inaugurate this program, PM Modi reached Biju Patnaik International Airport on Wednesday evening by a special plane from Andhra Pradesh.

He was received at the airport by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampit, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, state BJP president Manmohan Samal and others. Modi's convoy moved towards the Raj Bhavan amid tight security, while a large number of people stood on both sides of the roads to welcome the Prime Minister. As Modi's convoy passed through the road, folk artists performed and cultural programmes were organised at eight different places. Trees along the road were decorated with colourful lights.
PM Modi will inaugurate the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas conference
The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention is the flagship event of the Government of India, which provides an important platform to connect with the Indian diaspora and enable the diaspora and the countrymen to interact with each other. The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention is being held in Bhubaneswar from 8-10 January 2025 in partnership with the State Government of Odisha. The theme of this Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention is "Contribution of Overseas Indians to a Developed India". A large number of NRIs from over 50 countries have registered to participate in the PBD Convention. The Prime Minister will flag off the inaugural journey of the Pravasi Bharatiya Express, a special tourist train for NRIs. The train will depart from Nizamuddin Railway Station in Delhi and will visit several places of tourist and religious importance in India for a period of three weeks. The PBD Express will be operated under the Pravasi Teerth Darshan Yojana.
