New Delhi. The National Cyber ​​Crime Reporting Portal has helped save over Rs 3,431 crore through resolution of 9.94 lakh complaints, the Centre told the Lok Sabha. The Citizen Financial Cyber ​​Fraud Reporting and Management System forwards cyber crime incidents to the concerned state-level law enforcement agencies for further action.

Advisory issued for publicity of toll-free helpline number 1930

The 'cybercrime.gov.in' portal aims to enable immediate reporting of financial fraud and prevent diversion of funds by fraudsters. Minister of State for Food and Consumer Affairs B L Verma, in a written reply to a question, gave information on the effectiveness of the portal in combating financial cyber crimes. The Home Ministry has issued advisories to all states and union territories to publicise the portal and its toll-free helpline number 1930.

Out of 210 complaints, 158 were resolved

Lokpal registers 210 complaints during 2024-25 The government informed the Lok Sabha that more than 200 complaints were registered with the Lokpal till November 30 in the current financial year. Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh, in a written reply to a question, said that out of the 210 complaints, 158 have been disposed of. He said that a total of 166 complaints were registered with the Lokpal during the financial year 2023-24, out of which a total of 156 complaints have been disposed of.

Sewer and septic tank cleaning is not caste based, but occupation based

The Central government on Wednesday said sewer and septic tank cleaning is not a caste-based but an occupation-based activity, while over 90 per cent of septic tank workers belong to the SC, ST or OBC categories. In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale said out of the 54,574 accredited sewer and septic tank workers listed under the National Action for Mechanised Sanitation Ecosystem (NAMASTE) scheme, 37,060 are from the SC category.

Government departments select 51 experts through lateral entry

Lok Sabha was informed that 51 experts selected through lateral entry are working with various departments of the Central Government. Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said in a written reply that 63 appointments have been made so far at the level of Joint Secretary, Director, Deputy Secretary on contract, deputation basis in various government departments through lateral entry since its inception in 2018. Food Minister Prahlad Joshi said in the Lok Sabha in a written reply to a question that the total sugarcane price payable as on December 13 was Rs 11,141 crore. He informed that payments of Rs 3,015 crore are pending, of which Karnataka has the highest dues of Rs 1,405 crore, followed by Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Kisan Express and Magadh Express split into two parts due to rust in couplers

The government informed the Lok Sabha that the couplings of two trains Kisan Express and Magadh Express broke in August and September due to corrosion. Samajwadi Party MP Anand Bhadoria raised questions about the two incidents and asked whether the government has investigated splitting the trains into two parts.

After detailed investigation, measures have been taken to address such cases. In response to another question, Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the track men working in dangerous conditions have been equipped with necessary safety measures.He said that the trackmen have been provided with major safety equipment like retro reflective safety jackets, safety shoes, gloves, safety helmets with minor lights, LED 3-cell torches, rain coats, winter jackets etc. Along with this, while responding to another question, the Railway Minister said that Sabari Express between Thiruvananthapuram and Secunderabad is a daily service and the train is maintained as per the norms.
