PM Narendra Modi Maharashtra Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a visit to Maharashtra on Wednesday i.e. today. He will dedicate 3 leading warships of the Navy, INS Surat, INS Nilgiri and INS Vagsheer to the nation at the Navy Dockyard in Mumbai at around 10.30 am today. Giving information about this, PM Modi had said on Monday that the induction of three frontline naval warships into the Navy on January 15, 2025 will strengthen our efforts to become a global leader in the defense sector and will increase our efforts towards self-reliance.

Let us tell you that PM Modi, while responding to a post on 'X' by the Indian Navy, said, 'Tomorrow, January 15, is going to be a special day in terms of our naval capabilities. The induction of three frontline naval warships will strengthen our efforts to become a global leader in the defense sector and will boost our efforts towards self-reliance.' An official statement said that the launch of three major naval warships is an important achievement towards realizing India's vision of becoming a global leader in defense manufacturing and maritime security.

INS Surat has 75% indigenous content

INS Surat, the fourth and final warship of the P15B Guided Missile Destroyer Project, is one of the largest and most sophisticated destroyer warships in the world. INS Surat has 75 percent indigenous content and is equipped with state-of-the-art weapon-sensor packages and advanced network-centric capabilities. INS Nilgiri, the first warship of the P17A Stealth Frigate Project, has been designed by the Indian Navy's Warship Design Bureau and has been inducted into the Navy with enhanced capability, longer seaworthiness and advanced stealth features. It represents the next generation of indigenous frigates.

INS Waghsheer is equipped with many special features

INS Vagsheer, the sixth and last submarine of the P75 Scorpene project, shows India's growing strength in submarine manufacturing. It has been built in collaboration with France's Navy Group. This submarine has the ability to avoid enemy radar, monitor the area, collect intelligence, high-tech sound control, emit low noise and adapt its structure according to the climate. It has the ability to simultaneously attack the enemy underwater or on the surface with precision using 18 torpedoes and tube-launched anti-ship missiles.
