New Delhi. Along with the hilly states, the cold has now spread to the entire north and central India. The minimum temperature in many states of North India is going below five degrees. A drop in temperature has also been recorded in central India. The chill has increased in the plains. Although the sunshine in the afternoon is providing relief during the day, but the temperature continues to drop at night.

The weather department has also issued a warning about cold in many states. Jammu and Kashmir is the coldest among the hill states. Talking about Jammu and Kashmir among the hill states, the temperature in Srinagar was recorded at -5.3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. This was the lowest temperature in Srinagar this season. Water has started freezing in almost all the water sources of Kashmir including Dal lake.

The temperature in Lahaul-Spiti of Himachal Pradesh is minus 6.4 degrees

On Tuesday, the lowest temperature of minus 8.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Kanibal of Pampore in the state. Snowfall occurred on Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib and other nearby peaks in Uttarakhand on Tuesday. The lowest temperature was minus 6.4 degrees in Tabo located in Lahaul-Spiti of Himachal Pradesh.
