Business: Expanding their footprint across India, Nexa, which houses Maruti Suzuki cars like the Grand Vitara and the Baleno will now tap into Tier 2 and 3 cities where  previously there was no presence. This new type of showroom would be called Nexa Studio as explained by senior executive officer for marketing and sales Partho Banerjee in a media interaction.

He said the Nexa Studio would be smaller than a Nexa showroom but have service and spare parts areas in them while having a display for two cars. However, all of the Nexa cars would be offered for sale including the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Baleno, Jimny, Ignis etc. Also the buying experience would be the same as with a standard Nexa outlet too.

With around 37 percent of Nexa sales coming from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, the plan is to open around 100 more NEXA outlets by the end of the financial year. Typically earlier, to visit a Nexa showroom one had to travel 100km away roughly and with healthy sales coming from these cities, these Nexa Studio's will tap into that.

However, the Nexa studio will have a delivery zone and there will not be any differentiation whether you buy and take the delivery of the car from a big city like Delhi, or Mumbai or you take it from any Tier-2 or Tier-3 city. Recently, the 500th Nexa sales outlet was inaugurated, in Bengaluru, Karnataka which takes the total Maruti Suzuki’s sales network (ARENA, NEXA and Commercial) to 3,925 outlets covering 2,577 towns and cities.

In terms of sales, in FY 23-24, with sales of over 5.61 lakh vehicles, Nexa had a growth of 54% over the previous financial year. Hence, Nexa adds up to almost 30 percent of Maruti Suzuki’s domestic sales.
