Business:  A meeting of the Cabinet and CCEA was held in Delhi today. This meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Many important decisions have been taken in this meeting. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave information about the decisions taken in the cabinet.

The cabinet has approved the construction of smart industrial cities to promote manufacturing. Apart from this, 3 new railway projects and private FM projects for 234 new cities have also been approved.

Industrial Smart City Project gets approval

The Cabinet has approved 12 Industrial Smart City projects under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. The Cabinet has allocated Rs 28602 crore for the project. It is expected that after completion of the project, an investment of about Rs 1.5 lakh crore will be made in it.

To strengthen India's position in the global value chain, the government will offer ready land for smart industrial cities or industrial nodes to investors.

Where will the smart industrial city be built

12 smart industrial cities will be built in 10 states of the country. Apart from this, 6 main corridors will be established. Smart industrial cities will be built in these cities-

  • Khurpiya located in Uttarakhand
  • Rajpura Patiala located in Punjab
  • Dighi in Maharashtra
  • Palakkad in Kerala
  • Agra and Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh
  • went to bihar
  • Zaheerabad in Telangana
  • Oravakal and Kopparthi in Andhra Pradesh
  • Jodhpur Pali in Rajasthan

All these cities will be developed as per the direction of PM Gatishakti National Master Plan. Multi modal connectivity infrastructure will be established in these cities. This smart city will be built keeping in mind the plug and play and walk to work concept. This project will be designed in such a way that investors will not have to wait long to start work in these cities.
