Tagging the Department of Telecommunications @DoT_India, he wrote that the first rule of the Telecom Act 2023 'Digital India Fund' has now been made effective and we are proud to share this information. This shows our commitment to ensure equal access to telecom services for all. At the same time, it will also help in strengthening India's mission to become a developed India by 2047.

The central government increased funding through the Telecommunications Act 2023

On Monday, the central government said that telecommunications services worth Rs 80,000 crore will be funded in urban areas through the Digital India Fund. The central government has expanded the scope of the fund through the Telecommunications Act 2023. While this fund will be used to promote established or useful benchmarks or startups, it will also help in giving a new edge to Indian or indigenous technology.

The central government has said in an official press release issued on Monday that

  1. This scheme has been notified on Saturday under the Telecommunications Act 2023.
  2. The Digital India Fund will support broadband services as well as mobile funding and telecommunications equipment.
  3. To receive this funding, telecommunications projects must meet certain criteria, such as efforts to improve telecom services support and security.
