Business: The festive season will start in India in the next few days. During festivals, people go to their cities in large numbers. Due to this, difficulties are faced in getting reservation in trains. Keeping this in mind, the Railways has decided to run many special trains for Ganesh Chaturthi (Ganesh Chaturthi 2024), Durga Puja (Durga Puja 2024), Diwali (Diwali 2024), Chhath Puja (Chhath Puja 2024). 

South Railway announced this on Friday. It said that many special trains are going to be run in view of festivals like Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath. This will make it easier for people to get confirmed tickets. South Railway said that in view of the festivals, two weekly special trains will be operated in the months of September, October and November. Passengers can also get reservations for this.

 These special trains will be operated

1. Weekly special train between MGR Chennai Central-Santragachi. Train number 06089 will run from Chennai to Santragachi. This train will run once a week. The train will run a total of 13 times between September and November. Down train number 06090 will run between the two stations once a week.

2. Special train between Tambaram-Santragachi-Tambaram. This train 06095/06096 will be operated once a week from September to November. Up train will be operated on Thursday and down train on Friday.

durga puja special train

Railways has decided to run a special train between Patna and Puri. Train number 08439 will run between Puri and Patna. The train will run from 5 October to 23 November. Train number 08440 will run from Patna to Puri every Sunday. This train will run between the two stations from 6 October to 1 November.

342 special trains will run for Ganesh Puja

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed on Thursday that the Railways has made special arrangements in view of the festival of Ganesh Puja. Every year lakhs of people travel between Mumbai and Konkan during Ganesh Puja. In such a situation, to give confirmed tickets to these people, the Railways has decided to run 342 Puja special trains. According to PTI news, all these special trains will be operated from September 7. Out of these, Konkan Railway is going to operate 7 special trains.
