Education: The placement session 2024 of Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), one of the prestigious institutes of the country, has concluded. This year the average package has increased as compared to last year, but some challenges have also come up. This year, compared to last year, fewer students have been able to get placement. Also, this year has also been the lowest package till date. Which was 6 lakhs earlier, it was 4 lakhs this year.

According to the report, this year the average annual package has increased by 7.7% to Rs 23.5 lakh. The lowest package has come down from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 4 lakh. 388 companies registered and 364 companies made offers. About 75% of the students have got jobs through campus drives. Engineering and technology sector has seen the highest recruitment. Also, 78 international offers have been accepted. According to the report, 775 students have been given offers by multinational companies in the country while 622 students are going to join Indian firms.

Many students got packages of more than Rs 1 crore

Many students have received packages of more than Rs 1 crore. Recruitment in the consulting sector has been less than last year. 33 companies have given 113 offers in the financial services sector. Recruitment has also taken place in fields like artificial intelligence, machine learning, product management. Only 11 companies participated in the education field. Recruitment has also taken place in areas like research and development automation, energy science.

Placement percentage was 75%

The report states that the placement percentage is around 75% considering the number of students who appeared in it. Most of the students who got admission have found good employment opportunities. This year, the maximum number of students have been recruited in the engineering and technology sector. This time, compared to last year, the recruitment in information technology and technology has been slightly higher.
