Education News : Today, on the one hand, the admit card for the NEET PG exam is going to be issued, while on the other hand, a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court to postpone it. It was also demanded that it should be heard soon. In such a situation, the court gave the date of tomorrow i.e. 9th August. That is, the Supreme Court will listen to the 'urgent petition' demanding the postponement of the NEET PG exam on Friday, 9th August.

Demand for an immediate hearing was made

According to a report by Live Law, advocate Anas Tanvir had filed a petition before Chief Justice DY Chandrachud on Thursday morning seeking an urgent hearing. In response, the CJI said that the case will be heard tomorrow. The petitioners said that many candidates appearing for the exam have been allotted cities where it is hugely inconvenient for them to reach.

Hence, the petition was filed.

The petitioners further said that due to the short notice, it has become extremely difficult for the candidates to arrange travel to the allotted cities. Meanwhile, apart from postponing the exam, the petitioners have also sought that the normalization formula of 4 sets of question papers be made public before the candidates, so as to prevent any possibility of arbitrariness in the process.

When will the NEET PG exam be held?

It is worth noting that the NEET PG exam is to be conducted on August 11, 2024 in CBT (Computer-Based Test) mode in two shifts. 200 multiple-choice questions will be asked in the paper, out of which each question will be in English language only. 4 options will be given for the answer. Candidates will be given 3 hours 30 minutes for the exam. Let us tell you that earlier this exam was to be held on June 23, 2024, but it was postponed due to precautionary measures.
