Education: A shocking news has come from Haryana. Candidates who have spent many years and lakhs of rupees on their education have applied for the post of sweeper. Candidates selected for the post of sweeper will get a salary of Rs 15 thousand.

This recruitment was done by the Haryana government on the basis of contract based recruitment system. Haryana Skill Employment Corporation has been established in the state. This corporation recruits temporary employees in government departments, boards and corporations. Haryana Skill Employment Corporation invites for jobs through its website. Officials say that there are clear instructions in the job description on the website which outline the duties of the job, it is less likely that someone has applied by mistake.

The notification states that individuals applying for Safai Karmachari must read the job description carefully and confirm that they are willing to clean, sweep and remove garbage from public places, roads and buildings. They must also agree that if selected, they will be posted only in their home district.

What do the figures say?

According to government data, the unemployment rate in Haryana is increasing. The rate among people aged 15 to 29 years in urban areas rose to 11.2% in April-June 2024, while it was 9.5% in January-March. The unemployment rate for women aged 15 to 29 years in urban areas increased to 17.2% in April-June compared to 13.9% in January-March. From January-March to April-June, the unemployment rate in urban areas has increased from 4.1% to 4.7%. 1,17,144 youth who have passed 12th have applied for unemployment allowance.

So many candidates applied

The candidates who applied say that in private schools or companies we hardly get a salary of Rs 10,000 per month. There is hope of regular employment here in the future. According to media reports, 6 thousand post graduate candidates, 40 thousand graduates and 1.2 lakh 12th pass candidates have applied for this recruitment campaign.
