Light rain has started in the national capital Delhi since Monday morning. Strong winds were blowing here since Sunday evening and the weather was pleasant. With the rain, the temperature of Delhi has dropped further. The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain in Delhi. At the same time, a warning has been issued regarding heavy rain in 13 states. Red alert has been issued in 4 states and orange alert in 9 states. 

On Sunday, Delhi's maximum temperature was recorded at 36 degrees Celsius, 1.8 degrees Celsius above normal. Parts of the national capital received rain. The Delhi Public Works Department said it received five complaints of waterlogging and uprooted trees from South, Central and Rohini areas. 

Light rain predicted in Delhi

The IMD said the humidity was 63 per cent at 5:30 pm. It has forecast cloudy skies and light rain on Monday. The department said the maximum temperature on Monday is likely to be around 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature around 28 degrees Celsius. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality index (AQI) in the city was recorded at 63 at 9 am, which falls in the 'satisfactory' category. 

Alert in these states 

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in these states. Heavy rains may also occur in some areas of Uttar Pradesh bordering northwest Madhya Pradesh. Heavy rains are also expected in Maharashtra and Goa. Very heavy rains are also expected in some parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan bordering western Madhya Pradesh. An orange alert has been issued for West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya. Heavy rains are expected in these states. However, there is no possibility of cloudburst or any other accident.
