New Delhi: While it is raining in different states of the country, there are some areas where people are waiting for rain. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in many states today. Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad may receive light to moderate rain during the next 24 hours. There is a possibility of heavy rain in some states including Himachal-Uttarakhand.

There is a possibility of rain at these places till August 21

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is likely to continue in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada regions till August 21. Heavy rain is expected in Chhattisgarh on August 16. Today, heavy rains may occur in some places of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. 

Rain alert in Northeast and South India too

Heavy rains are likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Assam and Tripura till August 21. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema and Telangana may receive scattered to fairly widespread rainfall today and tomorrow.

How will the weather be in Delhi today

The weather department has predicted that the sky may remain cloudy on Friday and there may be light rain. The maximum and minimum temperatures on Friday may be 33 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius respectively. On Thursday, there was light rain at many places, while the maximum temperature was recorded at 34 degrees Celsius, which is normal for this season.  

Rajasthan Weather

Many parts of Rajasthan received moderate to heavy rains on Thursday and two people, including a woman, died in rain-related incidents. A Meteorological Department official said that rainfall is likely to reduce in the state from August 17. The official said that moderate to heavy rains are likely in some parts of Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Jodhpur divisions.
