New Delhi: Heavy rain will continue in many parts of the country today as well. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains may occur in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh during the next 24 hours. There is a possibility of scattered to widespread rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Western Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in Himachal and Uttarakhand from 10 to 14 August. 

According to the information given by the Meteorological Department, there will be heavy rain in western Rajasthan from 9 to 14 August. While on August 10, there is a possibility of heavy rain at some places in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad. At the same time, there may be rain in UP and Bihar till August 12. Due to heavy rains, many rivers of UP and Bihar are in spate.

Many rivers in Bihar are in spate due to heavy rains

Due to incessant rains in various parts of Bihar during the last 24 hours, the water level of the state's major rivers including Bagmati, Gandak, Ganga, Kamla Balan and Kosi is constantly rising. Ganga river is flowing above the danger mark at Gandhi Ghat and adjoining areas of Patna city and touched the danger mark of 48.60 meters on Thursday. The water level of Bagmati river in Muzaffarpur and Gaighat and other adjoining areas touched the danger mark of 48.68 meters, the bulletin said.  

 According to officials of Bihar Disaster Management Department, light to moderate rain is expected in the districts of Araria, Arwal, Banka, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Buxar, Darbhanga, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Jamui, Khagaria, Kishanganj, Lakhisarai, Madhubani, Munger, Nalanda, Nawada, Patna, Purnia, Rohtas, Samastipur etc. in the next 24 hours. 

Flood warning in some places in Himachal

 Himachal Pradesh has also warned of mild to moderate floods in different parts of Sirmaur, Chamba, Shimla, Kullu and Mandi districts in the next 24 hours. Due to rain in the state since Wednesday, a total of 109 roads are closed, including 37 in Mandi, 29 in Shimla, 26 in Kullu, six in Kangra, four each in Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti, two in Sirmaur and one in Hamirpur district.

Heavy rains are continuing in many areas of Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rains at many places in eastern Rajasthan for the next five-seven days. Heavy rains are expected at some places during this period. Rain activities are likely to increase in some parts of Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions from 9-10 August.
