What has happened so far in the investigation

  • In the last 6 days, CBI has continuously questioned two people in the doctor murder rape case. First is the main accused Sanjay Roy and second is former principal Sandeep Ghosh.
  • CBI went to the hospital and conducted all the forensic investigations and tried to collect evidence.
  • 5 doctors of CBI's CFSL team conducted a psychological test of Sanjay Roy, i.e. they tried to know his mental condition. A detailed report of the same was prepared. This test was conducted so that the investigating agency could ensure whether the statements of accused Sanjay Roy can be trusted.
  • Also, the Supreme Court will be informed that the polygraph test of the accused will be conducted soon.
  • The CBI also investigated this angle whether Sanjay Roy alone was involved in the incident or there was more than one accused.
  • In the last 7 days, CBI visited the hospital i.e. the crime scene several times and collected samples with the experts and also mapped the spot.
  • The report was prepared on the basis of the CCTV footage of the hospital in which the movement of accused Sanjay Roy was seen before and after the incident.
  • A lot of footprints have been found at the crime scene because the crime scene was not kept safe after the murder - besides, there was some renovation in the vicinity due to which there is a possibility of a lot of evidence being destroyed.
  • CBI is investigating former principal Sandeep Ghosh from two angles.
  • Why did Sandeep Ghosh hurriedly tell the family that their daughter had committed suicide?
  • Was this said intentionally so that the murder could be hidden and evidence could be destroyed?
  • Why did Sandeep Ghosh hold a meeting with the hospital staff before informing the police?
  • Why did former Principal Sandip Ghosh immediately resign and join somewhere else? Was his intention to avoid any allegations against himself?
  • The CBI is also questioning former principal Sandeep Ghosh from the angle of tampering with evidence - the effort is to find out whether he is a part of some larger conspiracy.

What has been found in the investigation so far

According to sources, all these things may be mentioned in the report that the investigating agency CBI is preparing to present before the Supreme Court.

  •  Sanjay Roy alone carried out the incident
  •  The hospital's CCTV footage and forensic report found evidence of Sanjay Roy's involvement in the incident
  •  After the incident, the role of former principal Sandip Ghosh is suspicious
  •  The crime scene was not kept secure
  •  There was delay in filing the FIR
  •  The family was deliberately given wrong information
  •  Questions raised on the method of investigation of Kolkata Police
  •  Several irregularities have been detected in the hospital
  •  Complaints about RG Kar Hospital were ignored by the former principal

DNA test report is most important

A source said that in this case, only the DNA test report is the most important. The DNA report will make it clear whether there is only one accused or some samples of some other people are also found. However, till now only one accused Sanjay Roy is being accused in the rape and murder. The DNA report is enough to completely solve this case, which is also important in the court. Apart from this, psychological test. Polygraphy is just a medium to detect truth and lie but they have no importance in the court. According to sources, Sanjay Roy's DNA sample report will solve the case, which is currently in the CFSL lab, it takes time for its complete report to come. Sandeep Ghosh, former principal, is still under suspicion for twisting the case and tampering with evidence.
