National:  A 45-year-old woman from Andhra Pradesh has gone missing in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Actually, she was walking on a footpath when suddenly the ground collapsed. Due to this, she slipped and was swept away into a sewage drain. 

Husband and son's lives were saved

The woman was identified as Vijayalakshmi of Animiganipalle village in Chittoor district. She was walking with her husband and son on the footpath when suddenly the ground collapsed. The husband and son escaped the fall, but Vijayalakshmi slipped and was swept away into the sewer. 

Rescue operation begins

Rescue operations were immediately launched by civil authorities in Kuala Lumpur which are still underway. Despite continuous efforts, Vijayalakshmi was still missing till Saturday evening. Vijayalakshmi used to frequently travel to Malaysia and Singapore for her business. 

keeping a close eye on

Following the incident, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials of the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu (APNRT) Society to ensure that the search operation is carried out effectively. The Chief Minister, along with Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Nara Lokesh, is closely monitoring the situation.
