National: Amid the rising infection of ampox across the world, India has developed the first indigenous RT-PCR kit for detecting ampox. This kit has been developed by Siemens Healthineers Company. This kit will give accurate results of ampox testing in just 40 minutes, whereas currently it takes one to two hours to test for ampox.

Big achievement for Make in India initiative

This kit has been developed in accordance with the highest global standards. It has been approved by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO). Siemens Healthcare Pvt Ltd said, this is a big achievement for our 'Make in India' initiative.

People will be able to get this kit soon

The IMDx Mpox Detection RT-PCR Kit will be made at the Molecular Diagnostics Unit in Vadodara. About 10 lakh kits can be made every year. People will be able to get this kit soon. WHO has declared the situation of Mpox as a global health emergency. Earlier in July 2022 also Mpox was declared a global health emergency.
