National: A shocking incident has come to light in Udupi, Karnataka. A girl was kidnapped and raped. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and took stock of the situation. During this, a young man was arrested on charges of kidnapping and raping the girl. The accused and the woman had become friends on the social media platform Instagram. At present, the police have registered a case against the accused and started investigating the matter.

Actually, this incident happened on Friday (23 August) at around 7 pm. When the accused kidnapped the woman in a white car near a beekeeping site and took her to a forest area. According to the complaint of the victim girl, two other people came in another car and gave beer bottles to the accused. Here the victim girl was introduced to a young man named Altaf through Instagram.

When the accused Altaf called the girl, who had become his friend on Instagram, to meet at a place, he kidnapped her along with his partner Xavier Richard. After this, he took the girl with him in the car to an unknown deserted place. Where he mixed intoxicants in alcohol and beer and forcibly made the girl drink it and then Altaf raped the girl. 

Police arrested 2 accused in rape case- SP

SP Dr. Arun Kumar says that after committing the crime, Altaf left the girl unconscious near her house and fled. When the girl regained consciousness, she narrated the incident to her parents. After which the same mother lodged a complaint with the police. He further said that the police took immediate action in this case and arrested the accused Altaf and his accomplice Richard. 

Based on the complaint of the victim, an FIR was registered against both the accused

In this case, SP Dr. Arun Kumar said that the victim girl had befriended the accused Altaf through Instagram. Along with this, the accused and the victim knew each other for the last three months. He said that rape has been confirmed in the medical examination of the victim. In such a situation, the police have registered a case against both the accused under sections 138, 64 and 3(5) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). Along with this, the matter is being investigated.
