this is the matter

The ED had filed its final report before the court on August 6. The ED case stems from an FIR by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). According to the investigating agency, the case is related to Group-D recruitments in the West-Central Zone of Railways in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh during Lalu's tenure as Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009. It is alleged that the railway recruits had gifted land to the family members and associates of the Rashtriya Janata Dal chief in exchange for jobs.

What did the court say?

Let us tell you that Special Judge Vishal Gogne had deferred the order on the prosecution's complaint (equivalent to the ED's chargesheet) till September 7, saying that some clarifications are required. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed its cases on the basis of the FIR lodged by the Central Bureau of Investigation. Meanwhile, the court had directed the federal agency to file the death certificate of co-accused Lallan Chaudhary. On August 6, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a supplementary chargesheet against Lalu, Tejashwi and 8 others. The ED said that the wife of accused Lallan Chaudhary has confirmed the death and has also submitted the post-mortem report.
