National:  Omar Abdullah filed his nomination from Ganderbal assembly seat on Wednesday. During this, Omar Abdullah's son was also present with him. He reached the mini secretariat with a large number of his supporters. During this, Omar Abdullah took off his cap and asked for votes from the people and said, "My honor is in your hands."

According to PTI report, Omar asked for votes from the public in Kashmiri language for the first time. During this, Omar said that we will discuss politics in the coming days. We will discuss the conspiracy of Delhi in the coming days. Omar Abdullah contested the 2014 assembly elections from Beerwah in Budgam district. He has also contested from Sonwar seat of Srinagar but Ganderbal is considered to be the stronghold of National Conference from where Sheikh Abdullah and Farooq Abdullah have also contested elections. Both have represented this seat.

Omar himself reversed his decision.
Let us tell you that Omar Abdullah had announced that he will not contest elections until Jammu and Kashmir is given the status of a full state. However, he withdrew this decision and said that this would send a wrong signal. Omar said, "If I was not ready to contest elections on any assembly seat, then how can I prepare people to vote for that seat?"

Omar gave this argument for contesting the election.
Omar Abdullah said, "How can I expect my colleagues to seek votes for an assembly which I am not ready to accept or perhaps I am indicating that I consider it insignificant?" Omar said, "These things put pressure on me and I cannot give wrong signals to people." Let us tell you that Omar Abdullah had to face defeat in the Lok Sabha election. He was defeated by independent candidate Sheikh Abdul Rashid Engineer on the Baramulla seat. He is in jail in a terror funding case.
