International: Amid tensions between the US and North Korea, Kim Jong Un is demonstrating his growing military capabilities. The world is aware of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's love for missiles. But, now Kim has also started liking drones. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un watched the demonstration of special suicide drones designed to attack targets. During this, Kim vowed to strengthen his army's war preparations and promote the development of such weapons. This information was given by the state media on Monday.  

US and South Korean forces are conducting military exercises

According to state media, this test took place on Saturday. This test was done at a time when the US and South Korean armies are conducting large-scale maneuvers to strengthen joint capabilities. The purpose of this maneuver is to defend against the growing nuclear threats from North Korea. Both countries said that the 'Ulchi Freedom Shield Exercise', which will continue till Thursday, aims to increase their preparedness against various North Korean threats. 

What is the purpose of the exercise?

The United States and South Korea also launched a separate water terrestrial landing exercise on Monday involving dozens of aircraft from their militaries, including American F-35 fighter jets and the water terrestrial assault ship USS Boxer. South Korea's military said the "Ssangyong exercise," which runs until September 7, is aimed at enhancing interoperability in warfare.

South Korea's army is keeping a close eye on Barik

North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency said Saturday's test involved various types of drones designed to fly varying distances to strike enemy targets on land and sea. The drones flew various routes before accurately hitting the targets, it said. Lee Chang-hyun, spokesman for South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff, said South Korea's military was closely examining North Korea's drone capabilities. (AP)
