Islamabad: An agreement has been reached between the Pakistan government and former Prime Minister Imran. Under this, Imran Khan's party Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has agreed to hold talks with the government. PTI said on Wednesday that it will participate in the third round of talks with the government to help reduce political tension in the country.

Let us tell you that this development has happened at a time when a day earlier the leaders of Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had demanded unhindered access to party founder Imran Khan as a pre-condition for joining the next round of talks with the government. Talking to the media outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf President Gauhar Khan said that the former Prime Minister has given the party leaders the option of meeting the government's negotiation committee if they cannot meet him directly.

Imran Khan will place written demands before the government

After the two sides reached an agreement on talks, Imran Khan has directed the party to submit their demands in writing to the government. Formal talks between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders began last month and two rounds of talks have taken place so far. The third round of talks was expected to take place this week, but differences emerged on Tuesday after Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders were not allowed to meet Khan. Khan has been in jail since August 2023.
