This fire has also affected the American film city Hollywood. The dates of Oscar nominations have also been extended. Priyanka Chopra has also given her reaction to this fire. Priyanka has shared a post on her Instagram regarding this. In which Priyanka wrote, 'My condolences are with all those who have been caught in this fire. I hope you are also safe. The rapidly increasing fire has destroyed thousands of acres of land and hundreds of houses. I salute all those soldiers who have been helping people throughout the night by coming forward. I salute your spirit of working continuously without getting tired.'
Decision to advance Oscar nominations
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has extended the Oscar nomination voting window. Voting for about 10,000 Academy members began on January 8 and is scheduled to end on January 12. However, the deadline has now been extended by two days and will end on January 14. The Academy has taken this decision in view of the growing fire in Los Angeles. Not only this, the nominations which were originally scheduled to be announced on January 17 have now been moved to January 19. The Academy sent an email to the members on Wednesday from CEO Bill Kramer detailing the change in dates. In which the Academy wrote, 'We want to express our deepest condolences to those who have been affected by the devastating fire in Southern California. Many of our members and industry colleagues live and work in the Los Angeles area and we are thinking of you.' Now the people caught in this fire are being evacuated safely. This fire in the midst of the bitter cold in America has worried everyone.
