Sports News : India and Bangladesh have faced each other in a 2-match test series. Team India registered a resounding victory in this series. In the first test match played in Chennai, Team India defeated Bangladesh by 280 runs and then won the second test in Kanpur by 7 wickets and whitewashed Bangladesh 2-0 in the series. In this test series, R Ashwin, Jaspreet Bumrah, Akash Deep and Ravindra Jadeja did wonders with the ball. R Ashwin and Bumrah took 11-11 wickets while India took 9 wickets. Both Ashwin and Bumrah took an equal number of wickets against Bangladesh, but only one bowler benefited in the latest ICC test rankings.

Ashwin lost the number-1 crown

ICC has released the latest Test rankings in which Jasprit Bumrah has captured the first position. Interestingly, Bumrah has taken the top spot by pushing compatriot R Ashwin to the second position. Bumrah has topped the ICC Test rankings for only the second time by taking 6 wickets in the match during India's seven-wicket win over Bangladesh in Kanpur. Ashwin took a total of five wickets in the second Test against Bangladesh and is now just one point behind Bumrah's 870 rating points. R Ashwin became the number-1 Test bowler in March this year. Then Ashwin took the number-1 throne from Bumrah. Now Bumrah has snatched the number-1 crown from Ashwin. Bumrah has reached the top of the Test bowlers' ranking for the second time. In the list of top-10 bowlers, Sri Lanka's Prabhat Jayasuriya has gained one position and now has reached the 8th. 

The latest ranking of Test bowlers includes 2 bowlers from India, 2 from Australia and 1 South African bowler. Australia's fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is in the third position, followed by Australia's Test captain Pat Cummins. Kagiso Rabada is in the fifth position.
