IND vs AUS Boxing Day Test: The fourth match of the 5-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy is being played between India and Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, in which the host Australian team has decided to bat first after winning the toss. In this match, the Australian team came on the field with a new opening pair in which 19-year-old player Sam Constas got a chance to start the innings with Usman Khawaja and together they gave the team a strong and fast start. Constas, who was playing his international debut match, took a very aggressive approach due to which the Indian bowlers also appeared under a bit of pressure. The pair of Constas and Khawaja also did a great feat.
Both of them scored half-century against India in the Boxing Day Test
Usman Khawaja and Sam Constas have become the third Australian opening pair to score a half-century in a Boxing Day Test against the Indian team. While Usman Khawaja returned to the pavilion after scoring 57 runs, Sam Constas played a brilliant innings of 60 runs. Earlier in 2007, the pair of Phil Jacques and Matthew Hayden had achieved this feat in the Boxing Day Test match against India, in which Phil scored 66 runs while Hayden scored 124 runs, while earlier in 1967, Bob Simpson scored 109 and Bill Lawry scored 100 runs in the Boxing Day Test match against India.
Sam Constas won everyone's heart with his innings
Sam Constas and Usman Khawaja shared an 89-run partnership for the first wicket in the Melbourne Test match. Constas grabbed the most headlines in this as he scored runs quickly against Bumrah and Siraj in his debut match itself, which paved the way for the Australian team to get a good start. Sam is the fourth youngest player to make his Test debut for Australia.
