Jerusalem: The Israeli army has given an ultimatum to the residents of 24 villages in southern Lebanon to vacate the villages. This warning issued by Israel on Wednesday has come at a time when the army has recently launched an operation near the border areas to deal with the Hezbollah terrorist group. The Israeli army is calling it a limited ground operation. These 24 villages fall in the 'buffer zone' declared by the United Nations, which was established after the last war between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006.

What did the Israeli army say?

The Israeli military also said that infantry and armored units were joining ground operations in southern Lebanon against the Iran-backed Hezbollah.

Attacks on Hezbollah will continue.

Israel says it will continue to attack Hezbollah until it is safe for displaced Israelis from the border areas to return to their homes. Only after this happens will the ground military operation be completed. The Israeli army has said in a statement that it has launched ground attacks on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.
