IND vs AUS: The last and 5th Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is being played between India and Australia in Sydney. Actually, Steve Smith missed out on completing 10 thousand runs in the Sydney Test. Smith needed 38 runs to reach the figure of 10 thousand Test runs before the Sydney Test. On the second day of the Sydney Test, the legendary batsman was looking in good rhythm but Prasidh Krishna showed him the way to the pavilion on a personal score of 33 runs. In this way, he remained just 5 runs away from the figure of 10 thousand Test runs. If Smith had scored 5 more runs, he would have become the second active cricketer to score 10 thousand runs in Test cricket. Currently, England's legendary batsman Joe Root is the only active cricketer in the 10 thousand club. Root has 12972 runs in Tests. Steve Smith has scored 9995 thousand runs in 203 innings of 114 Test matches at an average of more than 56. During this, 34 centuries and 41 half-centuries have come from his bat.
