Seoul: South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has been arrested. Yoon was facing impeachment in South Korea and the threat of arrest was hanging over him. South Korean authorities have taken this action in connection with the declaration of martial law on December 3. 

There was a clash between Yoon supporters and security personnel

According to the information received, more than three thousand police officers and anti-corruption investigators reached near Yeol's house in the morning, where Yoon supporters and members of the ruling People's Power Party clashed with the security forces. During this, many people were detained. Amidst all these deadlocks, Yoon Suk Yeol has now been arrested.

Yoon had declared martial law

Actually, Yoon had declared martial law on 3 December. His declaration caused a stir in the country's politics and the public was also shocked. Later on 14 December, the MPs voted to impeach him and remove him from office. Now the Constitutional Court is considering the same impeachment and deliberations are also going on about removing him permanently.

Yoon's lawyers made this claim

Since the sword of arrest was already hanging over Yoon, his lawyers were also already making statements. Yoon's lawyers had said that the attempt to detain Yoon was illegal. All this was being done to humiliate him. Yoon's lawyers had called this entire case a conspiracy.
