Sports:  On the basis of the stormy innings of Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran, West Indies defeated South Africa by eight wickets in the third and final T20 match played on Tuesday night. With this, the host West Indies won the three-match series 3-0. South Africa scored 108 runs by losing four wickets in this match which was reduced to 13 overs per innings due to rain. Windies achieved this target by losing two wickets in 9.2 overs.

West Indies had already won the series by winning the first two matches. South Africa was trying to save its honour by winning the third match, but the runner up of T20 World Cup 2024 failed in this task.

Pooran and Hetmyer's storm

The reason for South Africa's bad condition was the stormy batting of Pooran and Hetmyer. After the wicket of Alick Athanje fell in the first over, Pooran handled the innings along with the other opener Shai Hope. Athanje became the victim of Bjorn Fortune after scoring one run in three balls. South Africa thought that it could put pressure on the Windies from here, but Pooran showed his stormy style and ruined their plans. There was a partnership of 58 runs between Hope and Pooran. Pooran was out after scoring 35 runs hitting four sixes and two fours in 13 balls.
