Entertainment: After the Hema Committee report came out, film personalities are giving their opinions on it. South superstar Mohanlal had claimed that sexual harassment is much more in other industries than in the Malayalam film industry. Salman Khan's ex-girlfriend and actress Somy Ali has now spoken openly on this. She has discussed sexual harassment in Bollywood.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Somy Ali said, 'Mohanlal's observation about sexual harassment in different industries is, unfortunately, very true. I see victims of sexual harassment in domestic violence and human trafficking on a daily basis and the abusers are from all industries and demographics.'

'Fear of retaliation, loss of career opportunities...'
Somi Ali further said- 'What we often see is that there are deep-rooted stigmas in some industries like Bollywood, which make it difficult for survivors to speak up. Fear of retaliation, loss of career opportunities, and social boycott are powerful deterrents. Many people in the industry have significant influence and the pressure to remain silent is very high.'

'Bollywood is about hero worship and keeping secrets...'
Somi says, 'Bollywood is about hero worship and keeping secrets which can make it even more difficult for skeletons to come out of the closet. People in powerful positions are not inclined to challenge or expose them, especially when careers, respect and even personal security are at stake.'

Said this for Divya Bharti

Somi Ali further said that the death of late actress Divya Bharti is one of the most heartbreaking secrets of Bollywood. Somi Ali said that before her death, Divya had told her that she was under pressure due to some disturbing circumstances, which also included allegations of sex trafficking. She was very upset and told that she had plans to travel abroad, about which she was very suspicious.
