Entertainment news : The most talked about sequel of the year, 'Stree 2', directed by Amar Kaushik, has hit the theatres. The film is getting a tremendous response from the audience. The popularity of the film can be gauged from the fact that films of 2 other big stars were released along with it, but even after this, Stree 2 was the biggest hit at the box office. Stree 2 hit the theatres on the night of 14 August and then on the 15th, Akshay Kumar's 'Khel Khel Mein' and John Abraham's 'Veda' were also released. But, both the films could not compete with Stree 2 in terms of earnings.

What was the first day collection of Stree 2

The film's first day earnings figures have come out, which shows that it is outperforming many films alone. Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 has set a new benchmark for 2024 with a massive collection of Rs 54.35 crore on the first day in India. Released on Independence Day, the film has not only surpassed expectations but has also emerged as the biggest opener of the year.

Stree 2 is the sequel to Stree released in 2018

Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana starrer Stree 2 has managed to carry forward the success of Stree which released in 2018. According to Sacnilk.com, the film earned Rs 8 crore during a special screening on Wednesday, followed by an official release on August 15, after which it raked in a massive Rs 46 crore. With this, the film has set a new record by grossing a total of Rs 54.35 crore, beating previous biggies like Kalki 2898 AD and Fighter.

These films were given a tough competition

The film's success is even more remarkable considering that it clashed with Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu's 'Khel Khel Mein' and John Abraham's 'Veda' on its opening day. Despite this, Stree 2 managed to hold its own. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 sees Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor reprising their roles from before. The film takes forward the story of Chanderi, now haunted by the terror of the dreaded Sarkata, with the townspeople once again turning to Stree for help.
