During a conversation with Tele Talk, Bhavya Gandhi also told the reason for leaving 'Tarak Mehta...'. Bhavya Gandhi said, 'I was told that if you want to do it, we are with you and if you don't want to do it, we are with you. I don't remember what I was thinking at that time, but I just remember that I was scared and there was a question in my mind that was bothering me. I followed our legal format till I left the show.'

Bhavya further said, 'Like the notice period is of 3 months, but I served it for 9 months. After that I decided that now I have to bid farewell to this show.' On serving notice for 9 months instead of 3 months, he told that the producer had told him not to leave the show and everyone was explaining this to him. Finally he decided that he will leave the show and create his own identity, do something of his own. The actor also said that after struggling with a lot of dilemma, he was finally able to say goodbye to the show.

'Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', which started in 2008, is still being aired on Sab TV. Dayaben i.e. Disha Vakani has not yet appeared in the show. Apart from this, popular characters like Dr. Hathi, Sodhi, Anjali, Tarak Mehta, Sonu, Nattu Kaka, Bawri, Mrs. Sodhi and Goli have left the show and all have got new faces. No actress has been able to replace Dayaben till now and neither has the old Dayaben returned.
