Sports News : The Bangladesh team has to play a two-test match series against Pakistan. For this, the Bangladesh team will tour Pakistan. Now, the Bangladesh team has been announced for this series. 16 players have got a place in the team. Experienced all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has returned to the Bangladesh Test cricket team. Nazmul Hasan Shanto has been made the captain of the team.

Shakib Al Hasan is back

Shakib Al Hasan last played Test cricket for Bangladesh in March 2024. Bangladesh then hosted Sri Lanka for a two-match series. Since then, Shakib has been playing only T20 cricket, from the T20 World Cup to Major League Cricket in the USA and the Global T20 Canada League. Apart from Shakib, Mushfiqur Rahim and Taskin Ahmed also got a chance on the team. Taskin will play only the second Test starting on 30 August.

National Selection Panel Chairman Ghazi Ashraf Hussain said that we have selected five fast bowlers considering that Taskin Ahmed will play only the second Test. He has not bowled in Tests since June last year. That is why we have included him in the A team for the four-day match against Pakistan-A. This will make it easier for him to get into a rhythm in red-ball cricket.

Bangladesh team has played 6 test series with Pakistan so far, but has not succeeded in winning even one. A total of 13 test matches have been played between the two teams so far, out of which Pakistan has won 12. At the same time, one Test was a draw. Bangladesh team will reach Lahore on 13 August and will train at Gaddafi Stadium from 14-16 August before going to Islamabad on 17 August.
