Sports: A bad news has come out for the England cricket team. Due to which England may face problems in the upcoming winter test matches against Pakistan and New Zealand. Actually, England fast bowler Mark Wood has been excluded from the team for a year. The reason behind this is Wood's serious elbow injury. Due to this, Mark Wood has been out of the team for a year. The England Cricket Board (ECB) issued a statement informing that Wood has a stress injury in the right elbow bone, which has been confirmed by a medical scan.

ECB said that Mark Wood felt pain in his elbow during the Test series against West Indies. ECB said in its statement- "Mark Wood will not be allowed to participate in the remaining matches of this year due to a right elbow injury. Medical scans have confirmed that he has a stress injury in the bone of his elbow, which was revealed during the last Test series against West Indies."
Wood suffered a thigh injury against Sri Lanka
Mark Wood last played in the first Test match against Sri Lanka at Old Trafford. Along with this, Wood also suffered an injury in his right thigh, due to which he is undergoing treatment. However, the ECB said that Wood is recovering well from the thigh injury and is working on the rehabilitation process along with his medical team.
Mark Wood may be fit for Champions Trophy 2025
Mark Wood's injury will also affect England's winter Test tour. The ECB has confirmed that Wood will not be able to participate in the important Test matches against Pakistan in October and New Zealand in December. His goal is to be fit for England's white-ball tour of India in 2025 and the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
